On the edge of the business district lies Kings Park. Kings Park is a 400 hectare (988 acres) reserve of botanic gardens and bushland.
Few cities in the world enjoy anything like this great swath of natural landscape on the very edge of the city centre. The view eastwards from Kings Park reveals one of the worlds great urban panoramas to the left are the office towers of the city centre glittering in the constant bright sunlight; to the right lies the glorious stretch of Perth water alive with pleasure craft! About two-thirds of the park is bushland, glorious with wildflowers in the spring, and accessible by scenic drive as well as on foot. Fraser Avenue, with its monuments, memorials and lines of lemon gums, gives an unequalled panorama of Perth in its Swan River setting, while the Botanic Gardens encapsulate the incomparable floral wealth of Western Australia in a series of richly planted gardens. Lots of wedding photos get taken here for obvious reasons, mate!
