Canberra is Australia�s capital city located within the Australian Capital territory. In 1911, an area halfway between Sydney and Melbourne was chosen to be the young nations capital. The city of Canberra was planned in 1912 by an American architect � Walter Burley Griffin. Now the city of Canberra has a population of 310,000. It is home to Australia�s Parliament House. Canberra is principally a city of government, education, public services and tourism.
