However, when the politicians decided to have a new Parliament house to replace the original one in Canberra, they built the new Parliament house INTO the hill! Hence, Capital Hill got landcaped to become an integral part of the new Parliament House. Access roads circles the hill to lead in and out of this like a huge round-about. Quite impressive, actually.
