The Aussie meat pie is another famous icon together with having a beer while indulging in watching the footy (Aussie Rules Football). Australians are reputed to be the world�s largest consumer of meat pies per capita, with each person on average consuming over 12 meat pies and a further 17 combined pastries, sausage rolls, and party pies per annum.
The most popular meat pie is made by Four �N� Twenty which was first baked in 1947 by Mr McClure in the Victorian town of Bendigo. In 1948 at the Royal Melbourne Show, the Four �N� Twenty pie became a hit and this began its long journey to success.
Its factory in a Melbourne suburb called Kensington, is claimed to be one of the largest pie factory plants in the world capable of producing more than 50,000 pies per hour.
