Tobwabba Art tells the story of the Worimi people from the Great Lakes region of coastal New South Wales. Tobwabba means the “place of clay” and refers to a hill near Forster, NSW on which their descendants now have their homes at a “mission” called Cabarita.
This series of 6 coasters (by Ashdene Australia) features Dolphins, Main Waterhole, Turtle feeding and the Story of Forster & Tuncarry. These themes are taken from the tribe’s original paintings where current day artists have created the designs.
