The Stadhuys, old Melaka town

PANORAMIC VIEW - THE STADTHUYS, MELAKA TOWN This panorama shot was taken at 3pm in the afternoon on the 3rd Aug 2000 at a roundabout island at the "old" town center of old Melaka town. This shot is a potpourri collection of Melaka's rich past heritage. You can see the famous Stadthuys buildings (or "Stadthuis" in Dutch) in built by the Dutch in the 17th century. [see related product] The Christchurch and clock tower was built by the British in the 19th century. You can just see the old river bank of the Melaka River, which was once the most important port in South-East Asia in the 15th century.
