The saltwater crocodile is a fierce and dangerous predator, and have claimed more human lives than sharks. They are found not only inland in freshwater, but also in the sea off Australia’s north coast. It grows to “only” 6 metres (20 ft). That’s plenty enough to grab a unwary human by the legs and spoil their day with the “death-roll” they use to disable and eventually kill their victims. They are “lovingly” called by Australians with the pet name of “saltie” for obvious reasons.
