HMAV Bounty is a faithful replica of the 18th century ship, especially for the movie “bounty” starring Mel Gibson(as Fletcher Christian) and Anthony Hopkins (as Captain Bligh). The original Bounty, scene of the now infamous mutiny near Tahiti in 1789, was burned at Pitcairn Island. Believe it or not, the current HMAV Bounty has sailed every ocean of the world and covered more miles than the original Bounty! She is truly a piece of living history, maintaining an essential link with Australia’s seafaring past.
