Darwin – capital of Northern Territory
Darwin is the capital of Northern territory. It was founded in 1869 as a port and a centre for the cattle industry. However, Darwin has been ravaged quite a few times by cyclones/hurricanes. Today, Darwin has a population of 80,000 and is Australia’s most multicultural city with Darwin’s close proximity to South-East Asia. Darwin has a tropical climate, with hot wet summers and very warm dry winters.
